Shiv Sena UBT’s Anand Dubey Mocks Rahul Gandhi and Congress on TV, Sends Shockwaves Across Opposition

Mumbai: In the aftermath of Bihar Assembly elections, Anand Dubey, National Spokesperson of Shiv Sena UBT, grabbed the spotlight for his sharp satire targeting Congress and Rahul Gandhi across news channels. His biting commentary has left India Bloc allies and the opposition stunned, despite Congress and Shiv Sena UBT being partners in the alliance.

Dubey’s TV Mockery Sparks Attention

Following the Mahagathbandhan’s defeat in Bihar, Dubey appeared on multiple news channels, lampooning Congress leaders and the alliance. He mimicked Rahul Gandhi and RJD leaders in a humorous yet scathing manner, pointing out the failures of Congress leadership including Hussein Dalwai, Rashid Alvi, Digvijay Singh, and Mani Shankar Aiyar. Dubey praised AIIMIM leader Asaduddin Owaisi for securing five seats, highlighting Congress’s weak performance.

He also criticized Congress leaders for blaming RSS after the Delhi bombings, stating, “RSS is a respected social and cultural organization, not a terrorist group. Leaders like Hussein Dalwai seem to have lost their senses.”

Strategic Critique Behind the Satire

Political observers suggest Dubey’s mockery was not just humor but a calculated political statement. Shiv Sena UBT leaders had largely stayed away from Bihar’s election campaign. Additionally, in Maharashtra’s civic elections, Congress chose to contest independently, ignoring UBT leader Aditya Thackeray’s proposal. Dubey’s satire reflects the party’s displeasure with Congress’s ‘go-alone’ strategy and serves as a mirror to their Bihar defeat.

Who is Anand Dubey?

Anand Dubey hails from Banaras, Uttar Pradesh. His family moved to Mumbai’s Kandivali area when he was four. After completing his graduation from Mumbai University, he began his political journey with Congress in 2003. He became a prominent face for Bihar and Purvanchal in Mumbai politics. In 2019, Dubey joined Shiv Sena under Aditya Thackeray and stayed with the Thackeray faction after the party split. Apart from politics, he is a consultant in his family business, while his elder brother runs a chartered accountancy and law firm.

Viral Mimicry and Satirical Remarks

Dubey’s mimicry of Rahul Gandhi included comments like, “We try to awaken Congress workers, but they only wake up to BJP’s moves.” While impersonating Lalu Prasad Yadav, he mocked Tejashwi, saying, “What harm did he really do to Nitish? We lost only five seats, yet the media acts as if it was a massive defeat.” His sharp, humorous style has won appreciation for its wit and boldness.

Anand Dubey’s televised satire not only highlights Congress’s electoral failures but also positions Shiv Sena UBT as a bold critic within the India Bloc, signaling their intent to assert influence in the post-election political landscape.
