Shameful Incident in Delhi: Three Minors Accused of Sexual Assault on Six-Year-Old Girl in Northeast Delhi

New Delhi: In a shocking and deeply disturbing incident that has left the national capital shaken, three minor boys have been accused of sexually assaulting a six-year-old girl in northeast Delhi. Police have taken two of the accused juveniles into custody, while a search operation is underway to trace the third suspect.

According to police officials, the incident occurred on January 18. The matter came to light after the child’s family lodged a complaint, following which a case was registered under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.

Police stated that the three minors allegedly lured the child and committed the crime. All the accused have been identified and are confirmed to be juveniles. Two of them have been produced before the Juvenile Justice Board, in accordance with established legal procedures, while efforts are ongoing to apprehend the third accused.

Following the registration of the case, the victim was taken for a medical examination and is being provided with necessary medical care, counseling, and psychological support. Her statement has been recorded as per legal norms applicable to cases involving minors.

A senior police officer said multiple teams have been formed to trace the absconding accused. CCTV footage from nearby areas is being scrutinized and local intelligence inputs are being analyzed as part of the investigation.

Police said the probe is continuing and assured that strict action will be taken in accordance with the law. The incident has once again raised serious concerns over child safety and juvenile crime in the national capital.
