Shambhu Hostel’s Third Floor Allegedly a Den of Vice: Major Revelations in Patna NEET Student Case, Police Hunt for Madam Agrawal

Patna is rocked by shocking revelations following the death of a NEET aspirant at Shambhu Girls’ Hostel. The arrested hostel manager, Manish Ranjan, also known as Manish Chandravanshi, faces serious allegations of running a sex racket within the hostel premises and supplying girls to influential individuals. Meanwhile, the police are on the lookout for the hostel owner, Neelam Agrawal, and her two sons, who remain absconding.

Third Floor Used for ‘Illicit Activities’?

Investigations have uncovered disturbing details about the operation of Shambhu Hostel. Manish Ranjan allegedly used the third floor of the hostel for illegal activities. Fulliya MP Pappu Yadav has accused the hostel of supplying girls to influential figures. The owner, Neelam Agrawal, lived in the building with her two sons, while her late husband, Shambhu Agrawal, was the original proprietor. Neelam had appointed a caretaker, Neetu, who brought the unconscious student to the hospital. Since the incident, Neelam and her sons have evaded the authorities.

Police Intensify Hunt for Madam Agrawal

Police investigation revealed that on January 5, the day the student traveled from Jehanabad to Patna, Manish Ranjan’s mobile location was reportedly on the same route, hinting at a possible conspiracy—or it may be coincidental. Despite two weeks passing since the incident, authorities have yet to apprehend Neelam Agrawal or her sons. The case has raised serious questions about the safety protocols of hundreds of unauthorized girls’ hostels in Patna. Students report that in the last three years, no government agency has inspected these hostels for safety or basic facilities, and many lack security guards, leaving them vulnerable to external threats.

SIT Teams Investigate Hospitals

The Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the NEET student’s suspicious death has intensified its actions. The team visited Prabhat Memorial Hiramati Hospital in Rajendra Nagar and seized all documents related to the student’s admission and discharge. Experts are reviewing the treatment methods followed by doctors. Initial reports indicate that the student was brought to the hospital in an unconscious state on January 6, after prior treatment at Sahaj Hospital, which lacked ICU facilities. Forensic teams have collected crucial evidence and samples from the student’s room, and her clothing has been sent for detailed examination. Police are working to connect the dots between family allegations and medical reports.

Case Reaches Human Rights Commissions

The NEET student’s suspicious death has reached both the National and Bihar State Human Rights Commissions. Muzaffarpur-based advocate Subodh Kumar Jha has filed separate petitions, highlighting the circumstances of the student’s death. The petitions allege that marks on her body and crime scene conditions point to a serious criminal act, not suicide. The advocate warned that attempts to cover up the crime to protect influential accused constitute a punishable offense. He emphasized that the protection of daughters must remain the government’s highest priority and demanded that the culprits be brought to justice.

The Shocking Timeline

The incident took place at Shambhu Girls’ Hostel in Kankarbagh, Patna, where the NEET aspirant from Jehanabad was staying. The student arrived in Patna on January 5, and by January 6, she was found injured under suspicious circumstances. After battling for her life for nearly five days, she succumbed on January 11. Initial attempts by authorities to classify the case as suicide were overturned by post-mortem findings and visible injuries, confirming a heinous crime. The incident has sparked widespread political and social outrage, raising concerns about illicit activities in hostels and the involvement of influential individuals.
