Severe Cold in Lucknow: Nursery Schools Closed Until 27th; Classes 1–8 to Start at 10 AM

Lucknow, UP: The intense cold wave and dense fog sweeping through Uttar Pradesh have prompted the Lucknow district administration to revise school schedules to ensure the safety of students.

According to the official order issued by District Magistrate Vishakh G., all pre-primary and nursery schools across boards will remain closed from December 24 to December 27. For students in classes 1 to 8, schools will now open at 10:00 AM and operate until 3:00 PM during this period.

The extreme cold and thick morning fog have caused difficulties for school-going children and their parents, particularly during commute hours. On Monday, the city saw sunlight after several days, and similar weather conditions are expected in the coming days, prompting the administration to take precautionary measures.

The DM has directed strict compliance with the revised timings and emphasized that these measures have been taken based on weather forecasts predicting continued cold waves and dense fog in the region.
