Several Trains in Bihar Diverted, Rescheduled; Vande Bharat and Sapt Kranti Express Among Key Services Affected

Patna: Passengers travelling through Bihar will have to plan their journeys carefully as the Indian Railways has announced major changes in the routes and schedules of several important trains, including the Gorakhpur–Patna Vande Bharat Express and the Anand Vihar–Muzaffarpur Sapt Kranti Express. In addition, a number of passenger trains have also been cancelled temporarily.

According to railway officials, these changes have been introduced due to the ongoing doubling of the Bettiah–Kumarbagh railway track and the associated non-interlocking work, which is scheduled to continue until February 18. A Commissioner of Railway Safety (CRS) inspection for the newly doubled track is also planned on February 17, for which a special traffic block has been imposed.

During this period, Bettiah and Kumarbagh railway stations will function as non-crossing stations temporarily, affecting the movement of several trains passing through the region.

Trains Whose Routes Have Been Changed

Railways has modified the routes of the following major trains:

• Gorakhpur–Patna Vande Bharat Express
• Anand Vihar–Muzaffarpur Sapt Kranti Express
• Raxaul–Anand Vihar Satyagrah Express
• Barauni–Bandra Avadh Express
• Muzaffarpur–Porbandar Express
• Muzaffarpur–Prayagraj Bapudham Express
• Narkatiaganj–Sitamarhi–Danapur MEMU Train

Several MEMU/DEMU Trains Cancelled Till February 17

Due to the track doubling and non-interlocking operations, multiple MEMU and DEMU services have been cancelled until February 17.

The cancelled trains include:

• 63309 Muzaffarpur–Narkatiaganj
• 75235/75236 Raxaul–Bettiah–Narkatiaganj
• 63311 Muzaffarpur–Raxaul

• 26502 Vande Bharat Express (Gorakhpur–Patna)
• 12557 Sapt Kranti Express (Muzaffarpur–Anand Vihar)
• 15273 Satyagrah Express (Raxaul–Anand Vihar)
• 19038 Avadh Express (Barauni–Bandra)
• 19270 Porbandar Express (Muzaffarpur–Porbandar)

Railways Advises Passengers to Check Updates

Railway authorities have urged passengers to verify train schedules and cancellations before travelling, as the ongoing infrastructure upgrade work is likely to impact services significantly.

The rail doubling project is expected to improve rail connectivity and operational efficiency in the region once completed.
