
Seoni, Madhya Pradesh: The Seoni police have cracked a high-profile cow slaughter case after cattle remains were discovered near the Bhurkal Khapa Industrial Area, leading to the arrest of five accused. The main suspect, Amit Chaurasia, reportedly killed two cows at his field in Kapurdān, Chhindwara, before dumping the remains in Seoni.
Police Launch Swift Investigation
The incident triggered alarm in the area, and local Hindu organizations, including the Hindu Sevak Parishad, promptly alerted the police. Thana In-charge Dundda Seoni, Additional SP, SDOP Seoni, and the Dog Squad team rushed to the scene to begin an investigation.
Car Leads to Breakthrough
During the probe, police spotted a suspicious car near the crime scene. Using intelligence sources, the vehicle was traced to a man locally known as Bhaiya Patri. The driver was taken into custody, and further questioning revealed additional evidence linking the suspects to the crime.
Evidence Seized
Authorities confiscated the vehicle, tools, and knives used in the incident. According to the accused, on the night of 19 January, Amit Chaurasia killed two cows behind his field house, dismembered them into large pieces, and loaded them into the car. The remains were then dumped near a drain in the industrial area.
Five Arrested
The police have arrested the following individuals in connection with the case:
- Firoz Khan, son of Ibrahim Khan Devasi, Shahid Ward, Ghasiari Mohalla, Seoni
- Amit “Ammu” Khan, Kapurdān, Thana Chaurai, Chhindwara
- Massiuzma, resident of Jagdamba City, Seoni
- Mohsin, resident of Bori, Thana Barghat, Seoni
- Imran, resident of Bori, Thana Barghat, Seoni
The police have registered the case under relevant legal provisions and are continuing the investigation to uncover any further involvement.
