Senior Finance Manager Found Dead Under Suspicious Circumstances in Lucknow Hotel

Lucknow: The sudden and mysterious death of a senior finance manager staying at a luxury hotel in Lucknow has created a stir. The deceased, identified as Mohd. Fahimuddin Zahid (45), a Senior Manager with Bajaj Finance, was found unconscious in his hotel room at the Hyatt Hotel in Gomti Nagar. He had arrived in the city to attend an official company meeting.

According to police officials, Fahimuddin, a resident of Mira Road East in Thane, Maharashtra, checked into the hotel on January 14. On Friday morning, he was scheduled to attend a company meeting at around 10 a.m. When he failed to respond to repeated phone calls from colleagues, concern grew.

His colleagues rushed to the hotel and sought assistance from the hotel staff. Despite repeated doorbell attempts, there was no response from inside the room. The hotel staff then looked through the keyhole and saw Fahimuddin lying face down on the bed.

Using a master digital key, the hotel staff unlocked the room. Upon entering, they noticed that he was still breathing. Emergency services (108 ambulance) were immediately informed, and he was rushed to Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Institute of Medical Sciences, where doctors declared him dead on arrival.

Alcohol and Cigarettes Found in Room

Inspector Aram Singh of Vibhuti Khand police station stated that a liquor bottle and several cigarette butts were recovered from the hotel room. Police suspect that excessive consumption of alcohol and smoking may have led to a sudden deterioration in his health, though the exact cause of death remains unclear.

Initially, Fahimuddin’s wife expressed reluctance to conduct a post-mortem and requested that the body be flown directly to Mumbai. However, after counseling by the police, consent was obtained, and the body was sent for post-mortem examination to determine the exact cause of death.

Fahimuddin’s wife is travelling to Lucknow from Mumbai, while other family members are arriving from Karnataka. Further investigation is underway, and police officials have stated that the post-mortem report will provide clarity in the case.
