Datia, Madhya Pradesh: During a joint operation against illegal liquor production in Datia, SDOP Akansha Jain displayed remarkable humanity when a family involved in the illicit trade fled, leaving their three-month-old infant crying on the rooftop. Recognizing the child’s vulnerability in the bitter cold, SDOP Jain immediately took the baby in her arms, arranged milk, and ensured the infant was fed and kept warm.

Raid on Illegal Liquor Dens

The joint team of Datia Police and the Excise Department had been conducting regular raids on illegal liquor production sites. Acting on intelligence, officers raided the Phulra Kanjar Dera area, where many adults fled, leaving behind children, including the three-month-old infant found by SDOP Jain.

Prompt Action to Protect the Infant

The officer quickly provided milk to the child, arranged warm clothing to protect against the cold, and later entrusted the baby to his elder sister, giving necessary guidance to the family. This humane intervention drew widespread appreciation in the local community.

Massive Seizure and Destruction of Illicit Liquor

During the operation, the team recovered thousands of liters of illicit liquor and over 19,000 kg of jaggery, some of which were buried underground. Unable to remove the buried stock, officials collected samples and destroyed it on-site.
