After remaining temporarily closed due to severe cold and frost conditions, primary and upper-primary schools in 25 districts of Rajasthan are set to reopen on 12 January, the state Education Department announced. The decision comes after parents and students expressed concerns over the extended school closures.
Most schools for classes 1 to 5, and in some areas classes 1 to 8, had remained closed until 10 January. With 11 January falling on a Sunday, normal classes will resume from 12 January. Districts covered under the reopening order include Jaipur, Hanumangarh, Sikar, Sri Ganganagar, Bundi, Jalore, Jhalawar, Bhilwara, Tonk, Bharatpur, Nagaur, Rajsamand, Pali, Jhunjhunu, Kotputli-Behror, Dholpur, Sawai Madhopur, Kota, Barmer, Ajmer, Dausa, Jaisalmer, Balotra, and Deeg.

Department Guidelines
The Education Department clarified that only the specified classes that were temporarily closed will resume from 12 January. Higher classes have already been conducting regular sessions. While preparations for reopening have been completed, authorities warned that sudden weather changes could prompt new directives regarding school timings or operations.
Parents and students are advised to stay updated with official notifications from district administrations to ensure a smooth reopening.
