Raipur/Dantewada: Faith often becomes the last refuge when all hope seems lost. A deeply emotional letter written by a distressed mother was discovered in the donation box of the famous Danteshwari Temple in Dantewada, Chhattisgarh, reflecting the pain, fear and desperation of a parent seeking divine intervention for her ailing daughter.
The handwritten note, authored by Anita Chandrakar on December 20, 2025, came to light on January 28, 2026, when the temple authorities opened the donation box. Along with the letter, the donation box contained approximately ₹19.44 lakh in cash, officials said.
Mother Describes Sudden Changes in Daughter
In the letter, Anita Chandrakar expressed grave concern over the sudden mental and physical deterioration of her daughter Bhumi Chandrakar. She wrote that Bhumi, once a bright student, failed Class 11, began losing hair rapidly, and showed drastic changes in her eating habits, behaviour, daily routine and academic performance.
Fear of an ‘Invisible Force’
The mother also mentioned disturbing nighttime behaviour, stating that her daughter wakes up frightened, cries out in pain, and behaves like an elderly woman while groaning. She conveyed her fear that some “invisible force” may be affecting her daughter and draining the family’s positive energy, leading to worsening circumstances and misfortune.
“Please save my daughter, Mother Goddess,” the letter reads, reflecting a mother’s helpless plea.
Prayers for All Children and Family
In her appeal, the woman prayed not only for Bhumi’s recovery but also for the health, intelligence and success of her other two children. She wished that all three children would consistently score 98–99 per cent marks, and be blessed with long life, prosperity, respect, wisdom and a bright future.
Personal Vow and Hope for Stability
Towards the end of the letter, Anita Chandrakar wrote that her life has become deeply troubled and confusing. Remembering Lord Ganesha and Lord Shiva, she prayed to Maa Danteshwari to restore her family’s fortune and also expressed a personal wish to become a government school teacher.
Temple Donation Details
According to the Danteshwari Temple Committee, the donation box yielded ₹19.44 lakh in cash during this cycle. Officials also revealed that ahead of Valentine’s Day, several devotees — especially young people — placed letters seeking blessings for love marriages, broken relationships and emotional healing.
The letter has touched many hearts, serving as a reminder of how faith becomes a source of hope for those battling unseen struggles.
