Satna Crime: Youth Kidnapped on Way to Railway Station, Forced to Transfer Money at Gunpoint

Satna (Madhya Pradesh): Crime in Madhya Pradesh continues to rise, and a shocking incident has surfaced from Satna city, where a young man was allegedly kidnapped in a filmy-style manner while he was heading towards the railway station. A gang consisting of two young men and two girls reportedly abducted him in an auto-rickshaw and forced him at gunpoint to transfer money online.

The incident took place under the jurisdiction of City Kotwali Police Station on the night of 6 February 2026. Acting swiftly, the police cracked the case within a few hours and arrested all four accused, including the auto driver. They have been sent to jail.

Victim Was Walking to Railway Station

According to police sources, the complainant Prafull Shrivastava (20), a resident of Mukhtiyarganj near Kali Badi, Satna, filed a report stating that around 10:00 PM, he was walking from his home towards the railway station.

As soon as he reached near Punjab National Bank on Station Road, an auto-rickshaw stopped near him. Inside the auto were Piyush Kushwaha, another male companion, and two female friends. The accused suddenly grabbed him, covered his mouth, and forcefully pulled him inside the vehicle.

The gang then took him towards Mahadeva Petrol Pump.

Money Transferred Forcefully at Petrol Pump

After reaching the petrol pump, the accused snatched Prafull’s mobile phone and threatened him. They forced him to reveal his mobile PIN and banking details. Using the victim’s phone, the gang transferred money online from his account.

To avoid suspicion, the criminals allegedly transferred the money at the petrol pump and further converted it into cash by involving the petrol pump staff in the transaction.

After the accused fled, the victim reached the police station and narrated the entire incident.

Auto Number Helped Police Crack the Case

Considering the seriousness of the case, City Kotwali Inspector Ravendra Dwivedi immediately formed a special team. With the help of technical evidence and informer inputs, the police traced the accused using the auto-rickshaw details.

The arrested accused have been identified as:

  • Piyush Kushwaha (Resident of Dhawari Gali No. 01, Satna)
  • Ankit Dwivedi (Resident of Kharwahi, Police Station Amarpatan)
  • Dipali Bagri (20) (Resident of Village Mauhari, Police Station Nagod)
  • Disha Varman (Resident of Dhawari Gali No. 04, Satna)

Police also seized the auto-rickshaw used in the crime and the looted mobile phone.

Accused Sent to Central Jail

All four accused were produced before the court, following which they were remanded to judicial custody and sent to Central Jail Satna.

Police officials stated that further investigation is ongoing to determine whether the gang was involved in similar incidents earlier.

Police Appeal

Police have appealed to citizens to remain cautious while traveling at night and immediately inform the authorities in case of any suspicious activity.
