
Chittorgarh, Rajasthan: The famed Sanwaliya Seth Temple in Mewar has once again set new records in faith and donations this December. The temple’s monthly treasury count revealed a total collection of ₹29.32 crore, including nearly 1786 grams of gold and over 100 kilograms of silver. This remarkable contribution not only reflects the deep devotion of the devotees but also marks a significant increase compared to last year.
Treasury Count Conducted in Four Rounds
The temple administration conducted the traditional treasury count starting December 18. The process was completed in four rounds:
- Round 1 (18 Dec): ₹12.10 crore
- Round 2 (19 Dec): ₹4.73 crore
- Round 3 (20 Dec): ₹5.47 crore
- Round 4 (22 Dec): ₹49.84 lakh
In addition to the treasury, donations received via the temple office and online channels amounted to ₹6.51 crore, contributing to the total ₹29.32 crore collection for the month.
Generous Gold and Silver Offerings
Among the offerings, 1250 grams of gold was collected from the treasury and 536 grams from the donation chamber, totaling 1786 grams of gold. Silver contributions included 44.4 kg from the treasury and 55.44 kg from the donation chamber, making a total of over 100 kg of silver. Last year, the corresponding collection during the same period was ₹23.11 crore, showing a growth of ₹6.21 crore this year. Notably, the first day alone saw a record ₹12.10 crore in cash offerings.
Incident at the Temple
Amidst the celebrations, a minor incident was reported involving a private security guard and a devotee from Madhya Pradesh, Priyanshu, who was allegedly assaulted for filming a video. The altercation resulted in minor injuries, with bleeding from the nose and foot. Police intervened at the site and resolved the matter amicably.
