Samreen Nisha, also known as “Bhabhijaan Samreen,” Arrested for Objectionable Video Targeting Hindu Girls

Amroha, UP: Samreen Nisha, widely known on social media as “Bhabhijaan Samreen,” has been arrested for creating and sharing an objectionable video targeting girls from the Hindu community. Although she later issued a public apology, authorities have taken legal action against her.

The incident came to light in Amroha when Nisha, a resident of Sultanpur village in the Dehat police jurisdiction and wife of Sarfaraz, posted a video online three days ago containing offensive remarks against Hindu women. The video quickly went viral, prompting widespread outrage and calls for immediate action from local Hindu organizations.

Following the viral spread, a complaint was filed on February 2 by Amroha resident Prateek Sharma at the Dehat police station. The complaint stated that the language used in the video hurt the sentiments of the Hindu community and had the potential to incite social tension. Based on the complaint, police registered a case under Section 299 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) along with relevant provisions of the Information Technology (IT) Act and initiated an investigation.

In response to the controversy, Samreen Nisha later released another video in which she publicly apologized, stating that she had made a mistake and had removed the objectionable content. She also promised not to repeat such behavior in the future.

However, police confirmed that despite her apology, legal proceedings would continue as the case had already been registered. Samreen Nisha was arrested late Wednesday evening.
