Samrat Choudhary’s Bulldozer Drive Hits BJP Leader’s Illegal Construction Too, 90 Structures Demolished in Muzaffarpur

Muzaffarpur: In one of the biggest anti-encroachment operations ever witnessed in Muzaffarpur city, the district administration carried out a massive demolition drive on the Balu Ghat embankment road, razing nearly 90 illegal permanent and temporary structures, including those allegedly linked to a BJP leader.

The large-scale action was conducted under tight security, with heavy police deployment and two bulldozers brought in to clear the government land. The demolition created a stir in the area as a huge crowd gathered to witness the operation.

30 Feet of Land Cleared for Development Work

Officials said the encroachment drive was carried out from Sikandarpur Sluice Gate to Lakdi Dhai, where nearly 30 feet of encroached land was reclaimed. The cleared land will be handed over to BUDCO, where a drainage pipeline project is planned.

The drainage line will be connected to an STP (Sewage Treatment Plant), aimed at improving the water drainage system of the eastern region of Budhi Gandak.

Notices Ignored, Administration Took Strict Action

According to the administration, encroachers were served two notices earlier, but despite repeated warnings, the illegal occupation was not removed. As a result, the district authorities proceeded with the demolition.

Many illegal constructions had been built over the years on the embankment land, including houses, shops, gates, and boundary walls, raising concerns not only about illegal land grabbing but also about the safety of the embankment.

People Started Demolishing Their Own Constructions

Seeing the strict approach of the administration, several occupants reportedly began breaking down parts of their own illegal structures using hammers, in an attempt to avoid further damage.

Officials Present During the Operation

The drive was conducted in the presence of Musahari Revenue Officer, magistrates, BUDCO officials, and senior police officers.

Revenue officer Karun Karan stated that the demolition was carried out after repeated notices and confirmed that 90 illegal houses and structures were removed.

Administration Warns of Continued Crackdown

Authorities made it clear that similar action will continue across Muzaffarpur, as illegal encroachments are becoming a major obstacle in development projects.

The administration reiterated that it will maintain a zero-tolerance policy against encroachments that block public welfare and infrastructure works.
