Patna, Bihar: Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary has openly challenged former Chief Minister Rabri Devi over her remarks in the high-profile NEET student death case. Choudhary stated that if Rabri Devi knows of any minister or minister’s son involved in the case, she should disclose the name immediately, promising that action would be taken within 24 hours.
Deputy CM’s Response to Allegations
During the Bihar Legislative Assembly’s budget session, Rabri Devi suggested that a minister or their son might be involved in the case, accusing authorities of initially trying to suppress it before recommending a CBI investigation once it gained public attention. Responding to this, Choudhary criticized the opposition for playing politics and said, “Rabri Devi has been the Chief Minister of Bihar. If she knows of any minister or minister’s son involved, she must clearly name them in front of the public.”
Assurance of Swift Action
Choudhary added, “I guarantee that if the name of a minister or his son emerges, action will be taken within 24 hours, and the accused will be sent to jail immediately.” He emphasized that failing to disclose the name would indicate an attempt to hide evidence.
Background of the NEET Student Case
The case has drawn intense public scrutiny, with questions raised about the role of political influence in obstructing justice. Rabri Devi had earlier alleged that attempts were made to cover up the case, and only after media and public attention did authorities recommend a CBI probe.
Deputy CM Samrat Choudhary’s strong response signals the state government’s commitment to ensure swift legal action in this sensitive matter.
