Sambhal, Uttar Pradesh – In a symbolic and historic move, the Deepa Sarai Police Outpost in Sambhal was inaugurated on Friday by a young girl named Junaira. Remarkably, the outpost has been constructed using bricks and stones that were previously used during last year’s communal violence in the area, turning a symbol of unrest into one of law and order.
From Violence to Vigilance
The construction of the police outpost began after the November 24, 2024, violence in Deepa Sarai, which saw widespread rioting and attacks on police personnel. During the unrest, Sub-Inspector Shah Faisal and another officer were attacked, government property was destroyed, and motorcycles were set on fire. To strengthen law enforcement and ensure rapid police assistance to citizens, authorities decided to build a dedicated outpost at the site of the earlier clashes.
Features and Security Measures
The two-story police outpost spans 1,000 square feet and will include a control room to monitor the area. The outpost falls under the jurisdiction that includes the residence of SP leader and MP Ziaur Rahman Bark, as well as the home of the alleged mastermind of the violence, Shariq Satha. CCTV cameras have been installed throughout the vicinity, creating a “third eye” surveillance system to prevent future disturbances.
Inauguration Ceremony
The formal inauguration was conducted by CO Asmoli, Kuldeep Singh, who performed a traditional hawan-puja before officially opening the outpost. The event saw heavy police deployment to ensure security.
Authorities believe that this initiative will not only strengthen law enforcement in Sambhal but also serve as a powerful symbol of resilience, transforming materials once used for destruction into a beacon of safety and justice for the community.
