Jodhpur: The spiritual storyteller Sadhvi Prem Baisa of western Rajasthan passed away on Wednesday, sending waves of grief through the saintly community and her devotees. Shortly before her death, she reportedly posted a suicide note on social media, which has sparked widespread discussion.

Sadhvi Prem Baisa hailed from Pareu village in Barmer district, Rajasthan. She had long been associated with the saintly tradition and was known across western Rajasthan for her storytelling sessions (kathavachan) promoting Sanatan Dharma. Controversy and Agni Pareeksha

Following allegations last year, Sadhvi Prem Baisa publicly announced her willingness to undergo an Agni Pareeksha (trial by fire) to prove her innocence. The Sadhvi also alleged that before the video was circulated, she was asked to pay ₹20 lakh as part of a blackmail attempt. Upon her refusal, the perpetrators reportedly shared the video among her acquaintances and ashram followers, further fueling the controversy. She filed a formal complaint with the police regarding the incident.
