RWAs Turn Saviours in Noida’s SIR Drive; BLOs Struggle With Incomplete Voter Lists

Greater Noida: The Election Commission’s Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the voter list has entered its final phase, with only 13 days remaining. But on the ground, Booth Level Officers (BLOs) are battling a very different reality. Incomplete and confusing addresses listed in the old electoral rolls have left BLOs puzzled, making door-to-door voter verification an enormous challenge.

RWAs Step In as Crisis Managers

At a time when the administrative machinery seemed stuck in the maze of faulty addresses, Resident Welfare Associations (RWAs) across Greater Noida have emerged as true crisis managers.
RWA members are now walking alongside BLOs, helping them identify residents using photos and names from the voter list and guiding them to the correct houses.

What seemed like an unmanageable exercise has turned into a coordinated, boots-on-ground effort—thanks to this partnership.

Awareness Goes High-Tech: WhatsApp, Loudspeakers, Micro-Campaigns

The campaign is no longer just paperwork. RWAs in Alpha-1, Beta-1, Gamma, Delta and several other sectors have launched innovative awareness drives.
Daily informational videos are being shared on sector WhatsApp groups, urging residents to complete their SIR formalities.
Loudspeakers and sound systems have been deployed across neighbourhoods to make continuous announcements.

The result:
Tasks that earlier took hours are now being completed in minutes.

Race Against Time: 13 Days to Finish the Mission

Sher Singh Bhati, RWA President of Sector Alpha-1, emphasized that updating the voter list is crucial for strengthening democracy, and hence RWAs are putting their full weight behind the campaign.
Beta-1 RWA Secretary Hendra Bhati added that their team is supporting BLOs at every step—from helping residents fill the SIR forms to ensuring their timely submission.

With RWAs and the administration working in perfect sync across Alpha, Beta, Gamma, Delta, Omicron and Zeta sectors, the joint effort is showing results.
Officials are optimistic that the voter list update target will be achieved well within the remaining 13 days.
