Rudrabhishek in Vrindavan Marks 1000 Years of Somnath Temple Invasion; Dharm Raksha Sangh Celebrates Sanatan Pride

Mathura, Uttar Pradesh: A grand Rudrabhishek ceremony was held at Bhagwat Mandiram on the parikrama path in Vrindavan under the aegis of Dharm Raksha Sangh, commemorating the 1000th anniversary of the first invasion of Somnath Temple by Mahmud of Ghazni (January 1026–January 2026). The sacred ritual was conducted under the guidance of Acharya Badrish Maharaj, with participation from saints, office bearers, and students performing the worship of Lord Shiva with proper Vedic rites.

Sanatan Dharma’s Resilience Highlighted
On the occasion, National President of Dharm Raksha Sangh, Saurabh Gaur, emphasized that Mahmud of Ghazni’s invasion aimed not merely at looting, but at erasing India’s great Sanatan symbols. “The invader thought he could destroy faith, but his attempts to obliterate Sanatan Dharma never succeeded,” he said.

Somnath Temple: A Tale of Struggle and Revival
Executive President of the Sangh, Mahant Mohini Bihari Sharan Maharaj, noted that the story of Somnath Temple is not one of destruction, but of resilience and revival. “This temple teaches every generation that truth and devotion can never be defeated,” he said.

Historical Significance and Cultural Pride
National Coordinator Acharya Badrish Maharaj added that despite centuries of attacks, Somnath Temple stands tall as a symbol of India’s civilizational pride. “While the invader, Mahmud of Ghazni, is remembered in history merely as a plunderer and destroyer, Somnath today continues to shine as a beacon of hope and faith for millions of Hindus,” he said.

Devotees and Saints Participate in Ceremony
The Rudrabhishek event saw the participation of prominent saints and devotees including Shridas Prajapati, Mukesh Sharma, Mahant Atul Krishnadas Maharaj, Mahant Devanand Maharaj, Mahamandaleshwar Dr. Adityanand Maharaj, Ajay Sharma, Brajkishore Pachauri, and Dhruv Sharma, among others, creating a spiritually charged atmosphere of devotion and remembrance.

This millennium milestone serves as a solemn reminder of Sanatan Dharma’s enduring legacy, inspiring generations to uphold faith, resilience, and cultural pride.
