New Delhi: The latest CCTV footage from the Red Fort area has emerged, revealing the full horror of the deadly blast that shook the capital. The video captures pedestrians walking along the street when, in an instant, a massive explosion turns the area into a scene of devastation. People caught in the blast were thrown violently, and some were reduced to lifeless fragments. Vehicles, including auto-rickshaws, cars, and motorcycles, were mangled beyond recognition.
According to reports, the footage comes from a camera located very close to the blast site, where traffic congestion may have caused vehicles to remain stationary. Pedestrians, some with families and others alone, were caught off guard as thick smoke and debris filled the streets. For several seconds, the view is obscured by dust and smoke before panicked individuals are seen fleeing the area.
Casualties and Injuries
The explosion occurred on the evening of 10 November at approximately 6:55 PM near the Red Fort Metro Station, when a moving Hyundai i20 car detonated. The attack claimed 12 lives and left over 20 people critically injured. Authorities have identified the perpetrator as Dr. Umar Mohammad, a medical professional linked to the Faridabad terror module, in what is described as a suicide attack.
The injured were rushed to LNJP Hospital, where medical teams are still providing critical care. The CCTV footage highlights the scale of the devastation and the suddenness of the attack, leaving both the public and authorities in shock.
