Red Fort Blast Death Toll Rises to 12; PM Modi Visits Injured at LNJP Hospital

New Delhi: The death toll from the Red Fort blast in Delhi has reached 12, with several others still undergoing treatment at LNJP Hospital. Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the hospital on Wednesday to meet the injured, hear their accounts, and assess their medical care.

Critical Patients on Ventilators
Nearly two dozen patients remain admitted, with two in critical condition on ventilators. Another patient in the ICU is suffering from burn injuries but is expected to be shifted to the ward soon.

A senior doctor revealed that one of the victims suffered severe abdominal trauma, resulting in a ruptured intestine and internal bleeding. Emergency surgery was performed to reconstruct the intestines and remove the accumulated blood. The patient remains on a ventilator in critical condition.

Another patient sustained multiple injuries including the loss of one leg, fractures in both arms, and burns covering 60% of the body. A team of burn specialists and other medical experts are providing continuous care. Several other burn victims in the ICU are showing signs of improvement and may be shifted to regular wards shortly.

Emergency Care and Coordinated Treatment
Most of the patients were admitted directly to the emergency department to ensure coordinated treatment under the supervision of specialist doctors from all relevant departments. Severely injured patients, including those with burns, have been moved to their respective wards for focused care.

PM Modi’s Visit and Assurance
During his visit, Prime Minister Modi interacted with the injured and their families, inquiring about their health and recovery. Expressing concern over the attack, he assured that the perpetrators will be brought to justice. PM Modi wrote on social media: “Met the injured at LNJP Hospital after the Delhi blast. Praying for their speedy recovery. Those responsible will be held accountable by the law.”

Tight Security at Hospital
Security at LNJP Hospital was tightened both inside and outside the premises ahead of PM Modi’s visit. He personally visited the emergency ward, where he was briefed on the patients’ conditions by Medical Director Dr. B.L. Chaudhary and interacted with the victims.
