Ajmer: In a significant reform aimed at improving transparency and exam management, the Rajasthan Board of Secondary Education (RBSE) has introduced major changes in the answer booklets for the upcoming Class 10 and Class 12 board examinations, scheduled to begin from February 12.
This year, students will receive a redesigned main answer sheet with fewer pages. However, for the first time, the board has introduced an 8-page supplementary answer booklet to ensure that students do not face any difficulty in completing their answers.
Main Answer Sheets Now Have Fewer Pages
According to the new guidelines, the Class 10 main answer sheet will now contain only 20 pages, while the Class 12 answer booklet will have 28 pages.
This marks a reduction of four pages each compared to previous years, giving the answer booklets a slimmer format.
Supplementary Answer Booklet Introduced
To address concerns of students who may require extra space, RBSE has announced that an 8-page supplementary answer sheet will be made available in examination centres.
Students will no longer have to worry if their main booklet gets filled, as supplementary copies will be issued as needed.
Invigilators Can Issue Extra Copies Immediately
One of the most student-friendly changes is that candidates will not have to seek permission from the centre superintendent for additional sheets.
Instead, the invigilator present inside the examination hall will be authorised to issue supplementary answer sheets instantly whenever required, making the process smoother and quicker.
Barcode System Introduced to Prevent Malpractices
In another major step to curb cheating and prevent answer sheet replacement scams, RBSE has introduced a barcode-based tracking system for the first time.
Each answer booklet will carry a unique barcode, ensuring better monitoring and increasing transparency during evaluation and handling.
The board believes this move will help eliminate the influence of cheating networks and strengthen the credibility of the examination process.
Over 1.05 Lakh Students to Appear in Sikar
In Sikar district alone, which is often referred to as Rajasthan’s education hub, around 1.05 lakh students are expected to appear for the board examinations this year.
RBSE officials stated that reducing the number of pages in the main booklet will help reduce paper wastage, while the supplementary option will allow deserving students to write detailed answers without restriction.
