Ranchi ODI Traffic Advisory: No-Entry at 10 Key Intersections on 30 November; Parking Guidelines Issued

Ranchi, Jharkhand: In view of the One Day International (ODI) cricket match between India and South Africa at the JSCA Stadium on 30 November, Ranchi traffic police have issued detailed traffic guidelines to manage crowds and ensure smooth vehicular movement.

No-Entry and Vehicle Restrictions
From 6:00 AM to 10:00 PM on match day, heavy vehicles will be completely restricted from entering the city and should instead use the Ring Road. Normal vehicle movement from Shalimar Chowk to the North Gate of the stadium will be prohibited, except for ambulances and other emergency medical services.

Temporary diversions will be enforced at key intersections, including Sujata Chowk, Rajendra Chowk, Birsa Chowk, Dhurwa Gol Chakkar, Shaheed Chowk, Kadru Pul, and Argoda Chowk. Both small and large vehicles, autos, totos, and passenger vehicles will be restricted in these areas. Authorities may implement additional diversions at short notice to control crowd congestion.

Parking Arrangements
Traffic police have designated several parking areas for spectators based on their approach route:

Special Pass Vehicles:

  • VIP and VVIP pass holders can enter via Shalimar Market, Prabhat Tara Ground, and Paras Hospital, proceeding to North Gate adjacent parking near New High Court Gate No. 2.
  • Other pass holders may enter from the South Gate.
  • Media pass holders should enter via Dhurwa Gol Chakkar–Dhurwa Bus Stand to access South Gate parking.

Post-Match Exit Routes
Heavy congestion is expected along Shalimar Market, Mausibari, HEC Gate, and Birsa Chowk after the match. Alternative exit routes have been recommended:

Citizen Advisory
Residents of Ranchi are urged to avoid using the designated routes with personal vehicles to prevent congestion, and to use them only under special circumstances. Authorities request public cooperation for smooth traffic management during the match.
