Ranchi Administration Issues Notice to 400 Teachers for Missing Election Training

Ranchi, Jharkhand: Over 400 teachers in Ranchi have received notices from the district administration after they missed mandatory election training due to their ongoing duties in board examinations. The move comes as the administration steps up preparations for fair and smooth municipal elections.

Election Training Coincides with Board Exams

The Jharkhand Board is currently conducting matriculation exams until February 17 and intermediate exams until February 23. Simultaneously, the district administration has been running training programs for teachers and other staff in connection with upcoming municipal elections. Many teachers on examination duty could not attend the training, prompting administrative action.

Notices Issued; 24-Hour Response Required

The Ranchi district administration has issued notices to over 400 teachers, instructing them to submit a response to the District Election Branch within 24 hours. The notice emphasizes the importance of attendance at training programs for election duties and seeks to ensure accountability.

Education Department Clarifies Priorities

District Education Officer Badal Raj clarified that teachers on examination duty have their primary responsibility in conducting board exams fairly and peacefully. “Teachers engaged in exam duty are not required to attend election training at this time,” he said. Teachers have been advised to submit their duty lists to the District Education Office so the Election Branch can maintain accurate records of personnel engaged in examinations.
