Sambhal, Uttar Pradesh: Jagadguru Rambhadracharya has sharply criticized West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, labeling her anti-India amid the controversy surrounding the construction of a Babri Masjid in Murshidabad, West Bengal.
Addressing the issue with strong rhetoric, Rambhadracharya stated, “Mamata may have a Hindu name, but her actions are anti-national. Her dream of constructing a Babri Masjid can never succeed. I can no longer call her my sister; she is now the sister of traitors like Jaichand, Man Singh, Muhammad Ghori, Genghis Khan, and Mahmud Ghaznavi, not ours.”
Direct Attack on Mamata Banerjee
Rambhadracharya targeted the Chief Minister directly, emphasizing that no mosque should be built in the country in the name of Babur. He added, “You consume the fruits of India but praise Pakistan. In pursuit of votes, you are willing to mortgage your own country.”
He further declared that the Indian flag alone will fly in the country, and if a mosque is to be built, it should honor Abdul Kalam, not invaders of India. He warned, “You drink India’s water, you will die in India, yet sing praises of Pakistan. This will never happen—not with ₹300 crore, not even with ₹3,000 crore.”
Background of the Controversy
The controversy arose when suspended Trinamool Congress MLA Humayun Kabir announced laying the foundation for a Babri Masjid in Murshidabad. His supporters reportedly carried bricks and marched to place the foundation stone on 6 December 2025, accompanied by posters promoting the plan.
Responding from Sambhal, Uttar Pradesh, Rambhadracharya made it clear that he considers Mamata Banerjee to have betrayed India and now aligns herself with those who oppress Hindus, rather than with her own country.
