Rajasthan’s ‘Singham’ IPS Dinesh MN Set to Serve in Central Government

Renowned Rajasthan cadre IPS officer Dinesh MN, famously known as the ‘Real Singham,’ is likely to join the central government soon. A 1995-batch officer, Dinesh MN has earned acclaim for taking decisive action against notorious criminals and gangsters in Rajasthan, including his significant role in high-profile cases such as the Anandpal encounter.

Criminals Fear His Name
Senior IPS officer Dinesh MN has long been a figure that criminals dread. Throughout his postings, he has personally led operations against hardened criminals, often going into the field with police teams to ensure offenders are brought to justice. While serving as SP in Sawai Madhopur, his team carried out the encounter of dreaded dacoit Ram Singh.

Seven Years in Jail, Returned Stronger
During his tenure as SP in Udaipur, Dinesh MN’s team carried out the encounter of gangster Sohrabuddin, a case that led to his imprisonment. He spent nearly seven years in Ahmedabad Jail, Gujarat, before being granted bail in 2014. Upon release, he resumed his role in law enforcement with the same determination. By 2017, he and all other officers involved were acquitted in the Sohrabuddin encounter case.

Key Role in Anandpal Encounter
Notorious gangster Anandpal Singh had been a major challenge for the Rajasthan Police for over a decade, involved in multiple murders, attempted murders, extortion, and loot. In 2016, Dinesh MN was appointed ADG of the SOG and formed a special team to apprehend Anandpal. After systematically arresting his aides, the police located Anandpal near Churu in June 2017. When asked to surrender, Anandpal fired upon the police with an AK-47 and was subsequently killed in a police encounter. His family has contested the encounter in court, and the case remains under consideration in Jodhpur High Court.

Crackdown on Corrupt Officials in ACB
Dinesh MN has served as SP in Karauli, Sawai Madhopur, Jhunjhunu, and Udaipur. During his five-year tenure in the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), he took strict action against corrupt officers, including IPS and IAS officials, arresting and prosecuting several high-profile cases.

Targeting Gangsters Hiding Abroad
Several gangsters fled India, believing the police could not reach them overseas. Dinesh MN shattered this misconception, facilitating the arrest of six gangsters abroad with the help of international law enforcement agencies in the USA, Dubai, California, and Italy. Two have been extradited to India, while efforts continue for the remaining criminals.

From Rajasthan to Delhi
After years of fearless service in Rajasthan, IPS Dinesh MN has requested permission from the state government to serve in the central government. Known for his integrity, courage, and zero-tolerance approach toward crime, his move is widely anticipated and welcomed by law enforcement circles across India.
