Rajasthani Jeweler Drugged and Robbed by Woman He Invited at Home


Barmer, Rajasthan: A jeweler in Barmer suffered a shocking and costly betrayal when a woman he invited to his home secretly drugged him and looted his valuables. The incident occurred while his wife was away.

According to reports, jeweler Sawai Lal Soni had invited a woman he knew since a wedding event to his house. During the visit, she requested refreshments and, taking advantage of the opportunity, slipped a sedative into his cold drink. Soni lost consciousness, and when he regained it, he was horrified to discover that the woman had opened his safe and stolen gold jewelry worth approximately ₹25 lakh before fleeing the premises.

Staff and Police Respond
The jeweler was later attended to by household staff and rushed to a hospital. Police reached the scene, recorded Soni’s statement, and have launched a search for the accused woman.

Details of the Incident
Soni told police that he had invited the woman in his wife’s absence. She had gained his trust during earlier interactions, and at the time of the crime, the house staff were occupied with their duties elsewhere in the house, leaving Soni alone with the intruder. Police are currently investigating the case and tracking the suspect.
