Jaipur/Neemkathana, Rajasthan: The menace of reckless driving continues unabated in Rajasthan, leaving yet another tragic mark. Just as the state was grappling with the aftermath of the Harmada dumper accident in Jaipur, a horrifying incident unfolded in Neemkathana, Sikar district, on Wednesday afternoon.
A high-speed Hyundai i20 lost control and smashed through the wall of a house in Mahawa village, entering the courtyard. Tragically, the vehicle ran over two minor sisters who were playing, killing 12-year-old Shilpa on the way to the district hospital. Her younger sister, Anu, remains critically injured and is fighting for her life. The family is plunged into grief, and the laughter that had filled the home moments before turned into silence and mourning.
Local Youth Behind the Wheel, Flees Scene
The driver has been identified as Aditya Singh, a resident of Mahawa village. Following the accident, he fled the scene before locals could intervene. Police raided his home, but he remains at large. Shilpa’s post-mortem has been completed, and her body handed over to the family. A formal complaint has been filed by the girls’ uncle, Rajendra Kumar, and a case has been registered. Police continue the search for the accused.
Separate Incident: Three Youth Swept Away in Banas River, One Rescued, Two Missing
