Alwar Farmer Family’s Tragedy: MBBS Student Ajit Chaudhary Found Dead in Russia

Alwar, Rajasthan: A family’s dreams of seeing their son become a doctor have been shattered as Ajit Chaudhary, a 22-year-old MBBS student from Kafnawada village, Laxmangarh, Alwar, was found dead in Russia 19 days after he went missing. Ajit, who was pursuing his third year at Bashkir State Medical University in Ufa, was reported missing near a river close to the university campus on October 19. The following day, his clothes were found on the riverbank, triggering an extensive search operation. Despite continuous efforts, there was no trace of him until his body was discovered near the White River.

A Family’s Sacrifice for a Dream

Ajit’s family, owners of 20 bighas of land, had sold 3 bighas to fund his medical studies abroad. Their hope was that Ajit would return as a doctor, bringing pride to the family. His younger brother is currently preparing for competitive exams. The untimely death has turned the family’s dreams into grief, leaving the entire village in mourning.

Efforts to Repatriate the Body

The chairman of Alwar Sars Dairy, Nitin Sangwan, confirmed that Ajit’s identity was verified by university students. Following the post-mortem, arrangements are underway to bring the body back to India, a process expected to take two days and cost around ₹6 lakh. Prem Bhandari, President of the Rajasthan Association of North America (RANA), is coordinating with the Indian community welfare fund to cover the expenses and has been entrusted with overseeing the procedures in Russia.

Government Assistance

Earlier, Ajit’s family, led by Nitin Sangwan, had met Minister of State for External Affairs, Kirtivardhan Singh in Delhi, who coordinated with the Indian Embassy in Russia to expedite the search operation. Despite these efforts, the tragic outcome has left the family and the village community in deep shock.

This incident highlights the sacrifices of Indian families who send their children abroad for higher education, only to face unforeseen tragedies that shatter their hopes and dreams.
