Rajasthan Weather Update: Temperatures Rise but Cold Winds and Fog Keep Residents Shivering

Jaipur: Although minimum temperatures in Rajasthan have risen slightly, reaching above 10°C in many areas, the chill persists due to cold winds descending from hilly regions and dense morning fog. Cities such as Fatehpur (6.6°C) and Nagaur (7.4°C) remain among the coldest, while heavy fog and biting winds are making even daytime temperatures feel much colder.

Rising Minimum Temperatures
Jaipur has experienced a steady rise in minimum temperatures over the past two days. Despite this increase, cold conditions continue to dominate due to persistent winds from the hills. On Friday, only eight cities recorded temperatures below 10°C, compared to seventeen cities two days earlier. No city recorded a temperature below 5°C, a significant improvement from recent days when Mount Abu had dropped to zero and Fatehpur to 4.7°C.

Fog Covers Jaipur and Several Districts
Cold winds combined with dense fog are major contributors to the lingering chill. Morning and evening winds intensify the cold, while nighttime gusts prolong its effect. On Friday, fog lingered over Jaipur until late morning, and Saturday saw similar conditions across multiple cities, keeping residents bundled up.

Temperature Increase Highlights
Friday saw a rise of up to 1.6°C compared to Thursday, continuing the warming trend of recent days. Jaipur’s minimum temperature rose to 13.5°C, just 0.2°C below normal levels, though the cold remains palpable. Ten cities in the state reported daytime temperatures above 30°C, providing some relief.
