Jaipur: Residents of Rajasthan received some relief as the severe cold wave easing led to a noticeable rise in minimum temperatures across several districts. On Friday, cities including Nagaur, Sikar, and Fatehpur recorded temperature increases ranging from 3°C to 4.7°C. The Meteorological Department has withdrawn the cold wave alert for the next 48 hours.
Temperature Rise Amid Lingering Chill
Although dense fog and freezing conditions continue across the state, the reduction in cold wave intensity brought a mild rise in temperatures. Cities that experienced the lowest temperatures on Thursday saw the most significant increases on Friday. Nagaur recorded a rise of 4.7°C, Sikar saw an increase of 4.5°C, and Fatehpur’s minimum temperature went up by 3°C. Despite the rise, the biting chill remains in these regions.
Fog and Daytime Sunshine Influence Temperatures
Many parts of Rajasthan continue to experience dense fog, especially in border districts, while lighter fog prevails elsewhere. Daytime sunshine contributed to a moderate rise in temperatures across most cities. Jaipur saw its temperature climb by 1.6°C to reach 10.4°C. Nagaur’s minimum temperature increased from 1.9°C to 6.6°C. Fatehpur reported a minimum of 4.6°C. Meanwhile, cities like Karauli, Pratapgarh, Chittorgarh, Udaipur, Kota, Baran, and Pali recorded slight drops in temperature.
