
Jaipur, Rajasthan: The weather in Rajasthan is set to change once again, with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) issuing yellow alerts for several districts. On 27 January 2026, regions including Bikaner, Jaipur, Bharatpur, Kota, and Ajmer divisions are likely to experience heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, hail, and gusty winds.
Yellow Alert Issued Across Multiple Districts
According to the IMD, light to moderate rainfall accompanied by thunder may occur in districts such as Jaisalmer, Jodhpur, Bikaner, Nagaur, Churu, Jhunjhunu, Sikar, Jaipur, Alwar, Bharatpur, and Dholpur. During this period, lightning strikes and winds blowing at speeds of 20 to 30 km/h are also expected. Residents have been advised to remain cautious and stay updated with official weather advisories.
Western Disturbance to Hit Hardest on 27 January
The IMD has warned that the western disturbance will have the maximum impact on 27 January. Heavy thunderstorms, lightning, hail, and gusty winds of 30 to 40 km/h are expected in parts of Bikaner, Jaipur, Bharatpur, Kota, and Ajmer divisions. Following these events, temperatures may rise by 2–4°C before dropping again in the subsequent days.
Fog and Temperature Fluctuations in Coming Days
After the western disturbance, dense fog is likely in parts of the state on 28 and 29 January. Jaipur is expected to see rainfall on 27 January, while morning fog may cover the city from 28 to 30 January. Temperature fluctuations are anticipated in the coming days due to changing weather conditions.
Safety Measures Advised
The IMD has urged citizens to remain indoors during rainfall and thunderstorms, avoid taking shelter under trees, and unplug electrical appliances. Farmers have also been advised to take necessary precautions. The yellow alert will remain in effect for the next few hours, and authorities continue to monitor the situation closely.
