Jaipur, February 18, 2026: The active Western Disturbance over Rajasthan has significantly altered the state’s weather, bringing rainfall, hailstorms, and a drop in temperatures across several districts. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an alert for 29 districts, warning of heavy rain, thunderstorms, and strong winds. A yellow alert has been issued for potential lightning and cloudbursts in some areas.

Current Weather Scenario
The latest Western Disturbance has triggered a noticeable change in Rajasthan’s climate. On Tuesday evening, the weather deteriorated suddenly, bringing moderate to heavy rainfall to many districts. Nagaur recorded heavy rain accompanied by hail, while Sikar, Pali, Shri Ganganagar, and Didwana-Kuchaman also experienced significant showers. Light rainfall was observed in Jaipur, Bikaner, and Ajmer late at night. An orange alert has been issued for eight districts—Sikar, Jaipur, Dausa, Churu, Jhunjhunu, Tonk, Alwar, and Ajmer—where thunderstorms, lightning, and light to moderate rainfall are expected. Winds may blow at speeds of 30–40 km/h in some areas.

Meanwhile, a yellow alert covers 21 districts, including Shri Ganganagar, Hanumangarh, Bikaner, Nagaur, Pali, Rajsamand, Udaipur, Dungarpur, Bhilwara, Bharatpur, Karauli, Bundi, Baran, Kota, Sawai Madhopur, Dholpur, Chittorgarh, Jhalawar, Banswara, Pratapgarh, and Kotputli, warning of light rainfall, thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds.
