Massive Ghoomar Festival Kicks Off Across Rajasthan

Jaipur: Wednesday evening promises an enchanting spectacle as Rajasthan prepares to dance in unison. With traditional attire, rhythmic folk beats, and the elegance of Ghoomar, the state is gearing up for the grand launch of Ghoomar Festival 2025 across all seven divisions. For days, the event has created a buzz from small villages to social media platforms, and now the moment has finally arrived.

Deputy CM Diya Kumari Reviews Last-Minute Preparations

On Tuesday night, Deputy Chief Minister and Tourism–Art & Culture Minister Diya Kumari made a surprise visit to Jaipur’s Vidhyadhar Nagar Stadium football ground—one of the key venues for the state-level mega event.
She inspected stage arrangements, entry gates, security setups, technical preparations, rehearsals, and audience facilities.
Her directive to the teams was clear:
“The event must be grand, well-organised, and reflect Rajasthan’s cultural pride to the nation and the world.”

Ghoomar: The Soul of Rajasthan

Speaking about the festival, Diya Kumari said,
“Ghoomar is the soul of Rajasthan. This festival will infuse new energy into our folk culture and boost tourism in the state.”

Tourism Commissioner Rukmani Riar informed that the scale of this year’s event is significantly larger. Participation numbers exceeded expectations in many regions. Jaipur and Jodhpur alone received over 1,500 registrations, placing them in the high-prize category.

Prizes Up to ₹2.5 Lakh

Participants will compete across categories such as Best Group Dance, Best Costume, Best Jewellery, Best Synchronization, and Best Choreography.

Excitement is high not just among participants but also within local communities. Women, children, and folk groups have been actively rehearsing, and many have already taken part in traditional photoshoots ahead of the evening celebration.
