A long-awaited infrastructure upgrade is finally taking shape in Rajasthan’s Sawai Madhopur district. The state government has approved a budget of ₹14.50 crore for the construction of a new road on the Pancholas–Phalodi route, promising smoother connectivity and a major boost to local development.
The 14.85-kilometre stretch is expected to benefit thousands of residents and streamline movement across the region.
Foundation Stone Already Laid
The project includes the construction of an RCC culvert over the Kalayanpura drain along with a cement-concrete approach road, ensuring durability and all-weather usability.
Local MLA Jitendra Gothwal recently performed the foundation-laying ceremony, marking the formal beginning of the development work.
Officials say that once completed, the road will not only ease travel for villagers but also help expand trade, transport, and economic activities in the area.
A Relief During the Monsoon
Residents often face severe difficulties during the rainy season, when the existing road becomes muddy and nearly inaccessible. Schoolchildren, daily commuters, and patients being taken to hospitals suffer the most due to the poor condition of the route.
The new road is expected to end years of hardship, offering a dependable link even during heavy rainfall.
With this project, the Rajasthan government aims to push forward its broader vision of improved rural connectivity and inclusive development across the state.
