Jaipur, Rajasthan: In a major crackdown on recruitment exam fraud, Rajasthan police have arrested three individuals involved in using dummy candidates to secure government jobs. The case came to light during the Railway Group D recruitment exam at a Sitapura exam center in Jaipur.
How the Fraud Was Detected
During the biometric verification, exam officials noticed a mismatch between the candidate’s face and the registered applicant’s photo. The candidate was immediately detained, and the Sanganer Sadar police were informed. Upon questioning, the accused confessed that he was appearing on behalf of another candidate.
Mastermind Behind the Racket
The arrested dummy candidate has been identified as Rishabh Ranjan, a resident of Munger, Bihar. He was attempting the exam in place of Abhishek Meena. Further investigation led to the arrest of the gang’s mastermind, Gautam Kumar alias Goti, from Patna, Bihar. Gautam has reportedly run this dummy candidate network for several years, placing fraudulent candidates in over ten recruitment exams. He had been previously arrested by Kanota police.
SOG Cracks Another Case
The Special Operations Group (SOG) is also actively investigating cases of paper leaks and dummy candidates. Recently, they arrested Devilal, a third-grade teacher posted at a government primary school in Sindhari, Balotra. Investigation revealed that Devilal had paid ₹5 lakh to a dummy candidate to take the third-grade recruitment exam on his behalf.
Police Statement
DCP South Rajarshi Raj confirmed that all three accused have been taken into custody and legal action is underway. Authorities are closely monitoring upcoming exams to prevent similar fraud.
This crackdown highlights Rajasthan police’s ongoing vigilance against malpractice in government recruitment, ensuring transparency and fairness in the selection process.
