The Rajasthan High Court has imposed an immediate stay on the Assistant Professor recruitment examination scheduled for 7th December 2025. The court has directed the Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC) to release the complete exam syllabus at least 30 days before the exam, highlighting serious concerns over the commission’s functioning.
Court Intervention
During the hearing, Justice Ashok Kumar Jain expressed deep displeasure with RPSC’s working methods. When the RPSC secretary claimed in an affidavit that the syllabus had been released on 8th October 2025, the court requested proof on the official website. The secretary failed to provide any evidence.
Judge Checks RPSC Website Personally
In a rare step, the judge personally checked the RPSC website in the courtroom. No notification regarding the syllabus release was found, and the commission could not present any alternative official press release or notice. Justice Jain sharply rebuked the RPSC secretary, stating:
“You are lying. If an inquiry is ordered, you will be in serious trouble.”
Transparency Concerns
This action has once again raised serious questions about the transparency and accountability of RPSC.
Petitioners’ Concerns
The petitioners, represented by Advocate Anand Sharma, argued that the syllabus had not been issued even though the exam date was approaching, causing uncertainty and difficulty for candidates. The court accepted these arguments and delivered the critical ruling to protect the interests of examinees.
