Rajasthan Government to Pay Gwalas ₹10,000 per Month, Minister Madan Dilawar Announces

Baran, Rajasthan: In a significant move to strengthen cow protection and rural administration, Rajasthan’s Education and Panchayati Raj Minister Madan Dilawar announced that the state government will provide a monthly allowance of ₹10,000 to gwalas (cowherds). The announcement was made on Monday in Koila village, Baran district, during a public event aimed at promoting rural development and cow welfare.

Strengthening Cow Protection and Grazing Land

Minister Dilawar stated that in addition to providing gwalas with a fixed monthly honorarium, the government plans to clear encroachments on grazing land to ensure adequate pasture for cattle. “Our goal is to empower rural communities, protect cows, and strengthen village administration. Concrete policy decisions are being taken in this direction,” he said.

During the event organized by Ramganjmandi Municipality for the inauguration of a Shri Gau Mata statue, Dilawar emphasized the government’s commitment to preserving cow shelters and rural infrastructure.

Personal Connection to Koila Village

The minister also shared an emotional connection with Koila village, stating that he has had a 42-year-long association with the area. It was here that he began his work with the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) branch, entrusted to him by RSS pracharak Paramanand. “The government is prioritizing the overall development of villages,” he said.

Prompt Response to Rural Issues

While traveling from Baran to Chelabel village, Minister Dilawar stopped in Mandola village at Gadiya Luhar Colony, where residents raised concerns about sanitation and civic amenities. They reported that after housing was provided by the government, basic facilities were neglected, including the removal of garbage and disposal of dead livestock. In response, the minister instructed the BDO to ensure daily cleaning and proper waste management, emphasizing that negligence and filth would not be tolerated.

Emotional Childhood Reunion

On the way to Chelabel, Minister Dilawar also encountered a man herding goats, whom he recognized as his childhood friend Harish Chandra Suman. The minister stopped his convoy to embrace him, recalling how they sold vegetables together as children, carrying baskets on their heads. The heartwarming reunion moved both the minister and the gathered villagers.
