Jaipur: Rajasthan is conducting its first major recruitment examination of 2026, the Rajasthan Eligibility Examination for Teachers (REET), on Saturday amid extensive arrangements to ensure smooth participation of candidates across the state. To facilitate timely travel to examination centres, the Rajasthan Government and the Transport Department have introduced a free Rajasthan Roadways bus service for all REET aspirants.
The examination is being held in two shifts—the first from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon and the second from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm—with thousands of candidates appearing across multiple districts.
Udaipur Sees Highest Candidate Turnout
According to official estimates, around 17,000 candidates are appearing for the REET examination in Udaipur district alone. In view of the heavy rush, the Roadways administration implemented special transport arrangements from Thursday afternoon.
On the Banswara–Udaipur route, where approximately 25 regular buses operate on normal days, an additional 12 special buses have been deployed during the examination period to manage the increased passenger load.
Free Travel Facility Till January 21
As per government instructions, travel in Rajasthan Roadways buses has been made completely free for REET candidates, both for reaching examination centres and for return journeys after the exam. This special facility will remain in force until January 21.
To ensure orderly movement and passenger safety, police personnel, transport officials, and Roadways staff have been deployed at key locations. Authorities stated that all necessary measures have been taken to prevent overcrowding and ensure that candidates reach their centres without inconvenience.
Officials described the initiative as a major relief for students, reflecting the state government’s commitment to supporting aspirants during one of the most important recruitment examinations of the year.
