
Jaipur: Rajasthan marked the 77th Republic Day with grandeur and patriotic fervour as Governor Haribhau Bagade hoisted the national flag at the state-level main ceremony held at Sawai Mansingh (SMS) Stadium on Sunday. The event showcased the pride, discipline and cultural richness of the state, drawing participation from senior government officials, security forces and citizens.
The celebrations began early in the morning with Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma hoisting the tricolour at the Chief Minister’s Residence at 7:30 am, where a Rajasthan Armed Constabulary (RAC) contingent accorded him a Guard of Honour. The Chief Minister later proceeded to the Secretariat and other key locations as part of the day-long official programme.
At 9:30 am, Governor Bagade unfurled the national flag at SMS Stadium amid the echo of the National Anthem. After taking the salute, the Governor inspected the parade, which featured impressive march-pasts by various police and security contingents. The ceremony was attended by Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma, cabinet ministers, senior administrative officers, and top police and military officials.
The stadium resonated with patriotic enthusiasm as cultural performances highlighting Rajasthan’s rich heritage enthralled the audience. Saffron hues, national flags and patriotic songs transformed the Pink City into a vibrant canvas of national pride.
Police Personnel Honoured with Presidential and Police Medals
On the occasion, 16 police personnel from Rajasthan Police were honoured with the President’s Police Medal and Police Medals for their exemplary service and dedication to duty.
Among the awardees, Satyendra Singh, Inspector General (CID CB, Jaipur), received the prestigious President’s Police Medal, while several senior and field-level officers, including IGs, SPs, inspectors, head constables and constables, were conferred Police Medals.
Chief Minister’s Outreach Across Jaipur
Following the morning ceremony, Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma hoisted the tricolour at Badi Chaupar, extending Republic Day greetings to the people of the state and urging citizens to uphold the values enshrined in the Constitution. He later attended flag-hoisting ceremonies at the BJP State Headquarters and paid floral tributes to martyrs at Amar Jawan Jyoti, honouring their supreme sacrifice for the nation.
The Republic Day celebrations in Jaipur stood as a powerful reminder of India’s democratic values, unity in diversity, and Rajasthan’s unwavering commitment to the spirit of the Constitution.
