Rajasthan Bureaucracy Reshuffled: 13 Women IAS Officers Appointed as District Heads

Jaipur: In a major administrative reshuffle, the Rajasthan government has changed the District Collectors (Prabhari Sachiv) for all 41 districts across the state. The move, aimed at strengthening governance, has also significantly increased women’s representation in district leadership, with 13 female IAS officers entrusted with key district responsibilities. Several senior officers have also been assigned to new districts.

Under the reshuffle, all Divisional Commissioners have been assigned as Prabhari Sachiv for one district within their respective divisions. This decision is expected to enhance administrative coordination and accelerate decision-making at the district level. Additionally, two officers currently serving as Additional Principal Officers (APOs) have been entrusted with district responsibilities, indicating a likely transition to regular postings in the near future. The last major reshuffle of district heads was conducted in February 2024.

Senior Officers Assigned Key Districts
According to the order issued by the General Administration Department:

  • Bhawani Detha, Principal Secretary of the Women & Child Development Department, has been assigned Jodhpur.
  • T. Ravikant, Principal Secretary of the Revenue Department, will oversee Udaipur.
  • Debasish Prashti, Principal Secretary of UD&H, takes charge of Bikaner.
  • Neeraj K. Pawan, Secretary of Sports, has been posted to Ajmer.
  • Ravi Kumar Surpur, Secretary of DOIT, will head Kota.
  • PC Kisan, returning from central deputation, has been assigned Dausa.
  • APO Khajan Singh has been given responsibility for Salumber district.

13 Women IAS Officers Appointed District Heads
Among the 13 female IAS officers appointed as district heads, Jaipur and Bharatpur, both divisional headquarters, are included:

  • Gayatri Rathore, Principal Secretary, will lead Jaipur.
  • Anandi, Cooperation Secretary, has been assigned Bharatpur.
  • CMD of the State Storage Corporation, Arushi Ajay Malik, and Principal Secretary Manju Rajpal, will head Bhilwara.
  • Tourism Commissioner Rukmani Riyer takes charge of Bundi.
  • Divisional Commissioner of Bharatpur, Nalini Kathotia, will oversee Diga.

Additional assignments include:

  • Neha Giri, Director of Livelihoods, to lead Dungarpur.
  • Transport Secretary Shuchi Tyagi, assigned Karauli.
  • Anupama Jorwal, Director of State Project for Samagra Shiksha, to Kotputli-Behror.
  • Jaipur Divisional Commissioner Poonam, assigned Khairthal-Tijara.
  • Udaipur Divisional Commissioner Pragya Kaleramani, assigned Pratapgarh.
  • RECO MD Shivangi Savarnkar, assigned Sawai Madhopur.
  • Jodhpur Divisional Commissioner Dr. Pratibha Singh, assigned Sirohi.

This reshuffle reflects the Rajasthan government’s focus on strengthening administrative efficiency while promoting women’s leadership in governance.
