Jaipur: In response to the budget debate in the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly, Finance Minister Diya Kumari unveiled a series of initiatives aimed at employees, students, and infrastructure development across the state. Her announcements covered a wide range of areas—from insurance benefits for government employees to major educational and infrastructure projects.
Employee Benefits
Diya Kumari announced that government employees will now receive insurance coverage up to their retirement date. Currently, state employees’ insurance policies mature on April 1 of the year they retire, leaving them temporarily without coverage. The new policy ensures insurance protection until the actual retirement date.
She further stated that employees undergoing training will not be required to return salaries or allowances if they are selected for another central or state government position within the two-year training period.
Infrastructure Development
A total of ₹150 crore has been allocated to replace old drinking water pipelines, with an additional ₹220 crore earmarked for new water supply projects. For farm access roads, up to 20 feet of government land will be allotted, with payments at double the current District Level Committee (DLC) rates where private land comes in between.
Ramgarh Vishdhari Sanctuary will see ₹25 crore spent on safari facilities. New veterinary hospitals and sub-centers will be opened, and a mini-secretariat will be constructed in Lunkaransar, Bikaner.
Education and Student Initiatives
Diya Kumari also announced expansions for Ambedkar OBC hostels to accommodate more students. At IIIT Kota, new courses will be launched, and the institute will be developed as an AI hub. Additionally, eye check-ups will be conducted for 75,000 children, with glasses provided to those in need.
The Finance Minister’s budget reply highlighted a comprehensive approach, addressing employee welfare, educational advancement, and infrastructure growth, aiming to deliver measurable benefits across Rajasthan.
