Rajasthan Budget 2026: Key Highlights in 10 Points

Jaipur, Rajasthan: The Bhajanlal government has presented the Rajasthan Budget 2026 with a strong focus on children, youth, women, farmers, and senior citizens. Here’s a breakdown of the state’s budget in 10 major points:

1. Empowering Children and Youth
The CM Swarojgar Yojana will provide interest-free loans and grants up to ₹10 lakh, benefiting 30,000 youth. The Rajasthan Testing Agency, modeled on the National Testing Agency, will conduct online exams and assessments. A ‘Dream Program’ for college students will assist 50,000 students next year. The ‘Raj Savera’ anti-addiction campaign will facilitate treatment and rehabilitation for youth battling substance abuse. Language training in English, Japanese, and Korean will be offered to 1,000 youth, while new Techno Hubs worth ₹30 crore will be set up in each district in partnership with industries. E-vouchers worth ₹20,000 will aid top 10th and 12th-grade students to purchase laptops, and ₹250 crore will be allocated to provide free uniforms to 40 lakh students from classes 1–8. The Major Shaitan Singh Skill Development Center will open in Jodhpur, alongside integrated military complexes in Jodhpur, Tonk, and Shergarh. Scholarships for daughters of martyrs will increase to ₹2,000 per year.

2. Initiatives for Women
The Mukhyamantri Lakhpati Didi Loan Scheme now increases interest-subsidized loans from ₹1 lakh to ₹1.5 lakh. New women rehabilitation centers costing ₹50 crore will open, and rural women BPOs will be set up with a ₹100 crore investment. Loans to women’s self-help groups will rise from ₹50 lakh to ₹1 crore. RajSakhi stores will be established in all divisional headquarters to promote women’s entrepreneurship.

3. Strengthening the Power Sector
Six new 220 kVA Grid Substations (GSS), 13 new 132 kVA, and 110 new 33 kVA GSS will be installed. Solar parks worth ₹2,950 crore are planned in Bikaner and Jaisalmer. Ajmer Discom will integrate AI for real-time monitoring of the electricity system.

4. Water Supply Development
₹650 crore will enhance Bisalpur water supply to 1,092 villages. Orders worth ₹24,000 crore for drinking water projects have been issued. Under the Chief Minister Jal Jeevan Mission, 6,500 villages will receive piped water, costing ₹4,500 crore, and urban water projects will see ₹2,300 crore in investment. 24-hour water supply in Deshnok will cost ₹750 crore.

5. Airport and Tourism Boost
Feasibility studies for new airports in Sikar, Jhunjhunu, Deeg, and Bharatpur will be conducted. Jaisalmer’s Khuri Ultra-Luxury Tourism Zone and Kuldhara Tourism Center will be developed. All divisional headquarters will become signal-free, with ₹2,300 crore allocated for urban development and PM Awas grants for 28 lakh families.

6. Agricultural Development
The budget allocates ₹11,300 crore to modernize agriculture, making Rajasthan a technology-driven agricultural power by 2047. Focus includes capacity building, processing, marketing, irrigation, livestock, and dairy development. Key initiatives include pending water supply projects in Sikar, Jhunjhunu, Churu, and an MoU with Haryana to secure water. The Fatnikund Barrage to Shekhawati region Yamuna water project will commence soon, costing ₹32,000 crore. Micro-irrigation coverage will expand from 24% to 51%, benefitting 3 lakh farmers with ₹1,340 crore investment.

7. Anganwadi and Child Welfare
Over 17,000 Anganwadi centers will receive electricity connections, with ₹275 crore allocated for repairs. 700 Anganwadis will be upgraded to Nand Ghar facilities at ₹225 crore. 11,000 Amrit Poshan gardens will provide fruits and vegetables for midday meals, and 50,000 adolescent girls will benefit from supplementary nutrition programs.

8. Government Employees and Administration
A High-Power Committee will be set up to consider the 8th Pay Commission. New government offices will be established in 8 districts and new panchayat blocks, with ₹3,000 crore for development in 3,467 gram panchayats. Land rights will be granted to farmers in Gramdani villages. A Digital Arrest Control Cell and Cyber Crime Control Center will monitor online fraud. Home Guard strength will increase by 5,000, creating employment opportunities. Revenue department reforms and awards for best-performing panchayats are also planned.

9. Roads and Infrastructure
The state will spend ₹1,400 crore on non-patchable roads and ₹600 crore on missing link roads. 250 Atal Pragati Path projects, worth ₹500 crore, will begin next year, and ₹500 crore is allocated for repairing rain-damaged roads.

10. E-Registration and Land Services
The government will implement e-registration for transparent and efficient land and property transactions. Features include e-verification of parties, online slot booking, fully digital registration, and digitally certified document copies delivered to homes. All 106 sub-registrar offices will be developed as model offices for better service delivery.
