
Jaipur: Rajasthan Finance Minister Diya Kumari presented her third budget on Wednesday, delivering a nearly three-hour speech in the state assembly. The budget includes significant announcements targeting government employees, farmers, women, health services, drinking water, and rural development. Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma congratulated the Finance Minister after the budget presentation, marking a key milestone in the state’s fiscal planning.

Government Employees and Youth
- A high-powered committee has been constituted to implement the recommendations of the 8th Pay Commission.
- A new testing agency will be established to ensure transparency and efficiency in competitive examinations.
- Schoolchildren will receive sports kits and “magic boxes” to encourage holistic development in education and sports.
Healthcare and Free Treatment
- Patients lacking essential documents will now be eligible for free treatment across the state, providing relief to economically weaker sections and improving access to healthcare.
Empowering Women and Promoting Self-Employment
- Under the Chief Minister’s “Lakhpati Didi” scheme, the maximum loan limit for women has been increased from ₹1 lakh to ₹1.5 lakh, supporting women’s self-help groups and self-employment ventures.
Drinking Water and Water Management
- The Water Resources Department will recruit 3,000 contractual staff to strengthen drinking water supply.
- A new water policy will be introduced.
- Under the “Har Ghar Nal, Har Ghar Jal” scheme, around 6,500 villages will be connected to improve rural water access.
Support for Farmers
- Subsidies worth ₹288 crore will be provided for wire fencing to 50,000 farmers. The minimum number of farmers required for community fencing has been reduced from 10 to 7.
- Vermicompost units will be established in 3,496 panchayats, and real-time weather monitoring centers using AI and remote sensing technology will be set up.
- Affordable electricity will be provided for shrimp farming in saline-affected areas, including Churu.
- More than 400 vacant positions in agricultural universities will be filled next year.
- A ₹32,000 crore project will bring Yamuna water to Shekhawati from Hathni Kund.
- ₹100 crore will be allocated for sprinkler irrigation over 5,000 hectares in the right main canal of Bisalpur.
- 50,000 solar pumps will be installed next year at a cost of ₹1,500 crore.
- Subsidies worth ₹160 crore will be provided for agricultural machinery.
- Construction of 8,000 water tanks and grants for 36,000 farm ponds will benefit over 80,000 farmers.
