Rajasthan Budget 2026: Big Boost for Youths with Laptops, E-Vouchers, and More

Jaipur: The Rajasthan government has unveiled its 2026 state budget, with a special focus on empowering the youth. Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister Diya Kumari presented the budget in the state assembly, announcing a range of schemes for students, college-goers, and young entrepreneurs.

Youth-Centric Initiatives
Among the key announcements is the Chief Minister Youth Self-Employment Scheme, aimed at promoting entrepreneurship among young residents. In addition, the government launched the Rajasthan Testing Agency, modeled on the National Testing Agency, to streamline academic assessments.

Ajmer will soon host a TechnoHub to support startups, while vocational education will be introduced in 500 schools across the state. The government also announced a School-to-Work program to bridge the gap between education and employment.

Major Shaitan Singh Skill Development Center
Honoring the legacy of Major Shaitan Singh, who displayed extraordinary bravery in the 1962 war with China, the government will set up a skill development and training center in his name. The initiative will open new avenues for youth skill development while serving as a tribute to his family. Programs will also be launched for children of widows of ex-servicemen to prepare for competitive exams.

Direct Benefits for Students: Laptops, Tablets, and Cycles
To ensure timely assistance, the government will provide financial support for tablets, laptops, and bicycles directly into students’ bank accounts, eliminating delays or leakages. Additionally, around 1.4 lakh students will receive funds for school uniforms.

DBT E-Vouchers for Cashless Benefits
Students and youth will also receive DBT e-vouchers, enabling safe and cashless digital payments without the need for internet banking or cards. Beneficiaries can claim government scheme benefits via SMS or QR code, with assistance of up to ₹20,000 available for laptops, tablets, or bicycles.

Biometric System for School Students
The Deputy Chief Minister announced that government schools and Anganwadi centers (for children aged 3–6) will use facial recognition systems to ensure direct delivery of benefits. Schools facing sanitation issues will receive new toilets, and ₹250 crore has been allocated for school repairs.

The Rajasthan 2026 budget highlights the government’s focus on youth empowerment, skill development, and digital access to educational benefits.
