Jaipur, February 10, 2026: Rajasthan’s much-awaited state budget for 2026-27 is set to be presented in the Assembly on February 11 by Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister Diya Kumari. This year’s budget focuses on creating opportunities for youth, supporting farmers and women, and boosting both urban and rural development. Several new schemes are expected, along with expansions of existing programs.
Here’s a look at the major highlights anticipated in the budget:
1. Employment and Recruitment for Youth
Around 100,000 new government jobs may be announced across the state. Most recruitments, except for top-level posts like RAS, could see the interview stage removed from the selection process. Contract employees may also get a salary hike.
2. Social Security and Pension Increase
The government is likely to raise pensions under social security schemes by approximately 15%, providing relief to senior citizens, differently-abled individuals, and widows.
3. Farmer Support Package
The Kisan Samman Nidhi could be gradually increased to ₹12,000 per year. The scope of interest-free crop loans through cooperative banks may expand, along with potential bonuses on wheat and other MSP crops, as well as purchases of bajra and jowar.
4. Focus on Irrigation, Dairy, and Animal Husbandry
Small-scale irrigation projects, micro-irrigation, and schemes targeting tribal areas are expected. Bonuses on milk procurement, expansion of livestock insurance, and women-focused dairy incentive programs may also be announced.
5. Women and Self-Help Groups
The Lakhipati Didi Yojana is likely to be expanded, and funding for women’s self-help groups may increase. Incentives for Anganwadi and ASHA workers could also be included in the budget.
6. Roads, Transport, and Urban Development
New expressways, road upgrades, overbridges, and underbridges may be planned. Around 1,000 new buses for Roadways could be purchased, and funding may be allocated for Jaipur Ring Road Phase-2 and Jaipur Metro Phase-2 (first package).
7. Power, Water, and Industrial Development
The budget may promise 24-hour power supply, smart meters, new grid substations, and assurance that farmers’ electricity rates will not rise. Under the AMRUT-2 scheme, sewage and drinking water projects are expected to get special focus. Proposals to boost industries through a single-window system, as well as defense, aerospace, and semiconductor sectors, may also be announced.
8. Education and Healthcare Expansion
New medical colleges, hospitals, PHCs, and CHCs may be planned, along with an increase in medical and paramedical seats. Funds for repairing dilapidated school buildings and constructing new ones are also expected.
With a focus on employment, social welfare, infrastructure, and sectoral growth, Rajasthan’s 2026-27 budget is shaping up to be a significant one for the state’s development and public welfare.
