
Jaipur, Rajasthan: As the Rajasthan Assembly prepares to witness the presentation of the 2026-27 state budget by Deputy Chief Minister (Finance) Diya Kumari at 11 AM, questions are being raised over the implementation of her previous budget’s announcements. Several major initiatives announced in the last budget are yet to materialize on the ground. Here’s a detailed look at the ten key projects still pending:
1. Zero-Accident Zone in Dausa
The proposal to create a zero-accident zone on the Jaipur-Agra National Highway has not yet been completed.
2. Banswara Tourism Circuit
A religious tourism circuit connecting Tripura Sundari Temple and Mangarh Dham in Banswara was announced, but the plan remains on paper.
3. Bhama Shah Mandi Expansion, Kota
The expansion of Bhama Shah Mandi over 96 hectares in Kota was planned to boost agricultural produce in Hadoti region, but work has yet to commence.
4. Braj Regional Development Plan, Dig
The Braj Regional Development Plan for Dig and Kaman was announced in 2023-24, with budget allocation doubled to ₹100 crore in 2024-25. However, the plan is still not operational.
5. Ring Road in Jalore–Jhalawar
Construction of a ring road around both cities was announced but has not started yet.
6. Fruit and Vegetable Market, Sirohi
Plans for a new fruit-vegetable market in Sirohi and a secondary agricultural mandi in Mandar have not received approvals.
7. Yuva Saathi Centre, Sikar
The promised youth center in Sikar remains unopened.
8. Yoga-Ayurveda University, Ajmer
Announced in the 2025-26 budget, the university in Ajmer has only identified land so far; no construction or operations have begun.
9. Eco-City and Flying Training, Jhunjhunu
Mandawa’s development as a clean and green eco-city, along with flying training facilities at the local airstrip, remain unrealized.
10. “River Linking” Project, Tonk
The Detailed Project Report (DPR) for linking Banas and Ruparail rivers from Bansalpur Dam, along with canal repairs, has yet to progress.
With these key promises still pending, all eyes are now on Diya Kumari’s Rajasthan Budget 2026 to see whether these projects will finally get the attention and funding required for implementation.
