Rajasthan Braces for Rain and Hail; New Alert Issued for Jaipur and Four Other Divisions

Jaipur, Rajasthan: The weather in Rajasthan is set to change again from Saturday, with the state likely to experience rain and hail over the next 48 hours. The Meteorological Department has issued an Orange Alert for 12 districts and a Yellow Alert for some other areas. A new Western Disturbance, becoming active today, is expected to impact five divisions, including Jaipur, with heavy rainfall and hailstorms likely.

Weather Impact Across Divisions

Radheshyam Sharma, Director of the Jaipur Meteorological Centre, said the system will primarily affect eastern and southern Rajasthan. Dense clouds are expected over Udaipur, Kota, Jaipur, Bharatpur, and Ajmer divisions today and tomorrow (1 February). The region may also experience strong winds along with rainfall and hail, prompting authorities to warn residents and farmers.

Next 24 Hours Critical

The Meteorological Department stated that from Saturday morning, changes in weather will be noticeable in Jaipur, Ajmer, and Bikaner divisions. While skies were clear on Friday, thunderstorms with rainfall could start today. The sudden hail due to the Western Disturbance may damage Rabi crops like wheat and mustard, so farmers are advised to remain alert.

Recent Weather Pattern

On Friday, residents experienced slight relief from the cold as northerly winds slowed and the sun shone brightly, pushing temperatures higher. The highest temperature recorded in the past 24 hours was 28°C in Pali, while Jodhpur, Jalore, Pali, and Barmer crossed 25°C. By Friday afternoon, cloud movements began in Udaipur and Kota divisions, signaling the approaching weather system.
