Rajasthan ATS Seizes 3 Lakh Suspicious Photos from Maulvi Osama; Afghan Connection Emerges

Jaipur, Rajasthan: Maulvi Osama Umar, recently arrested in Barmer, Rajasthan, is under intense investigation by the state ATS. During a thorough examination of his mobile phone and social media accounts, authorities recovered nearly 3 lakh suspicious photos, raising concerns about possible terror activities.

The investigation comes in the wake of a recent deadly blast in Delhi, which has put security agencies on high alert across the country. Preliminary findings indicate that the recovered materials include deleted images that were successfully retrieved, and the ATS is working to decipher their significance.

Links to Foreign Funding and Extremist Groups
According to Vikas Kumar, IG of Rajasthan ATS, evidence suggests that Osama Umar may have connections to foreign funding sources. Investigators are also probing his ties with several extremist organizations, including the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan, with whom he reportedly maintained contact over the past four years.

Planned Trip to Afghanistan for Training
Further questioning revealed that Maulvi Osama was scheduled to travel to Afghanistan for specialized training on November 8. His route was to include a stopover in Dubai before proceeding to Afghanistan. Messages recovered from his mobile—written in Urdu and Persian—provide crucial leads that ATS officials are actively investigating.

Osama Umar has been presented in court and taken on remand, during which authorities expect more significant revelations regarding his activities and connections.
