Rajasthan: After Lord Shiva’s Statue, Nathdwara Set to Unveil Another Giant Monument — A 131-Foot Tall Hanuman Statue

Rajsamand (Rajasthan): The temple town of Nathdwara, already renowned for its towering statue of Lord Shiva, is once again in the spotlight. A new 131-foot-high statue of Lord Hanuman is nearing completion atop a 500-foot-high Aravalli hill, creating a magnificent combined height of 631 feet. This monumental structure is poised to become Nathdwara’s next major attraction.

Construction Nearing Completion

The construction of the Hanuman statue began five months ago and has been executed using fiber materials and advanced modern technology. A team of expert artisans and engineers has been involved in the project, ensuring high-quality craftsmanship at such an elevated and challenging location.

The project has been undertaken under the guidance of Tilkayat Goswami Rakesh Baba of the Shrinathji Temple. A noted industrialist from Mumbai has also extended financial support for this ambitious initiative.

A New Symbol of Devotion in Nathdwara

Standing at 131 feet by itself, the statue’s placement atop the 500-foot-high Aravalli hill dramatically enhances its visual grandeur. Once fully unveiled, it will add another landmark to Nathdwara’s spiritual and tourism landscape, alongside the already famous 379-foot statue of Lord Shiva.

Challenges and Expert Craftsmanship

Building the statue on a steep hill presented significant logistical challenges. Transporting construction materials to the hilltop required major effort, but consistent teamwork and planning allowed the project to progress smoothly over five months.

Renowned artisans and professionals involved in the project include:

  • Girish Bhai (Mumbai)
  • Naresh Kumawat (Delhi) – the master sculptor who previously worked on the 379-foot Shiva statue
  • Sharad Gupta
  • Architect Shirish Sanadhya
  • Rajdeep Singh

Their combined experience and technical expertise have played a crucial role in bringing this massive structure close to completion.
